- Bring 2x the amount of water you thought you needed. Your dog is wearing a fur coat while walking up a generally hot climb. The dog will be incredibly thirsty throughout the hike attempting to control his temperature. Water your dog frequently.
- How tough are your dog's foot pads? Dogs walked on concrete do not have pads tough enough for extended hikes.
- Bring waste bags.
- Pack your dog's waste out! The State's land managers are not your personal pickup crew. As evidenced by the dozens of little bags left all along Westridge, most of you pretend others will do your job for you.
